The Summit Church has a team of elders/pastors who teach and shepherd the flock. These leaders keep watch over the congregation as men who must give an account to God. The elders must meet the qualifications set forth in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9, exercising authority over the church only to the degree that they teach and lead according to the Scriptures.
We also have men who serve our body as deacons. Our deacons strive to meet physical and spiritual needs of the congregation (Acts 6:1-6), freeing up the elders to minister the Word and lead the body. The elders and deacons work together to shepherd the flock, primarily through Anchor Groups, The Summit Church's small group ministry. (1 Timothy 3:8-13)
